Red Flag: Contract talk plenty but no specific details. You see lines like “we go deliver fast” or “quality work.”
Translation: When gbe na gbe start, nobody go gree say dem be wrong.
Wetin You For Do: Put timelines. Write figures. Describe the work well. No assumptions. This be business, not friendship.
 
2. No Way Out
Red Flag: The contract no talk how you go commot if things no go well.
Translation: You dey inside till Jesus come.
Wetin You For Do: Add exit plan. If you wan terminate, how? How long you for give notice? What go happen to unfinished work?
 
3. All the Stress Dey Your Side
Red Flag: You go do everything. You go supply, deliver, beg for payment and the other party dey flex.

Wetin You For Do: Balance the roles. If you dey carry weight, make sure dem too dey carry their own.
 
4. No Dispute Clause – If Wahala Come, You Dey On Your Own
Red Flag: Contract no talk what go happen if case come.
Translation: Court or shrine? Choose your fighter.
Wetin You For Do: Add say if problem come, we go first talk, then mediation, then maybe court, but choose the right one.
 
5. Auto-Renewal Wey Dey Hide
Red Flag: If you no cancel, the contract go renew by force.
Translation: Before you open eye, dem chop your money again.
Wetin You For Do: Read the fine print. If you no wan continue, cancel on time. Or tell them to remove that clause koraa.
 
6. Contract No Talk About Ghana
Red Flag: Contract no mention which law go control things.
Translation: If matter come, you fit end up dey defend case for Burkina.
Wetin You For Do: Add this: “This agreement shall be governed by the laws of Ghana.” Simple.
 
7. Payment Dey Float
Red Flag: Contract no talk how or when you go get paid.
Translation: Today promise, tomorrow ghost.
Wetin You For Do: Fix the payment. Say how much, how you go get am and if dem delay, what go happen?

No sign contract because e fine or because the person speak English. Sign am because you dey understand am.
